Description
Stunning, fine and impressive 4.40 carat Basaltic sapphire, 3.14 carat diamond and pearl, 12 carat yellow gold and platinum set pendant/brooch; part of our unheated sapphire collections.
This stunning, fine and impressive Edwardian pendant has been crafted in 12ct yellow gold with a platinum setting.
The pierced decorated, lozenge-shaped frame displays a stunning central collet set 4.20ct cabochon cut Basaltic sapphire.
The openwork design incorporates paired leaf decorated settings alternating with individual circular collet settings, incorporating sixteen impressive diamonds in a combination of Old European and Dutch cuts.
This central foliated arrangement is framed with a scalloped border, composed of twenty-eight Old European cut diamonds.
This feature pendant design suspends from a detachable bale, ornamented with a large paired leaf design to the nadir, embellished with six pavé set diamonds.
The bale is further ornamented with a stunning collet set 0.20ct cushion cut sapphire, surmounted with a tapering pierced decorated bale ornamented with two further pavé set diamonds.
This antique pendant suspends from an 16' platinum chain, incorporating twelve impressive natural pearls at equidistant intervals, and securing to the reverse with a push fit catch.
This superior and versatile piece of Edwardian jewellery may also be worn as a brooch, securing with a conventional hinged pin and clasp fastening to the reverse of the setting.
This stunning pendant/brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as 12ct gold and platinum.
This stunning antique Edwardian blue sapphire pendant necklace with diamonds is supplied with a sapphire certificate supplied by the Gemmological Certification Services, London*, in addition to an Idgl diamond and gemstone grading card.
Such antique examples with stunning natural sapphires of this high quality are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
Note: * This documentation accredits the sapphire originating in Basaltic deposits and certifies that the gemstone shows no indications of heat treatment; non-heated sapphires are a scarcity.
