This is an antique astragal glazed drawing room bookcase. An English, rosewood and brass display cabinet, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Exceptional example, graced with wonderful figuring and colour. Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select stocks present striking grain interest throughout. Presented in dashing caramel hues beneath a wax polish finish. Rolled crown detail accentuates the edges of the display top and lower apron. Thirteen panel astragal glazed doors present a clear, bright view within. Inset lock to the right hand door — in working order, key present. Trio of adjustable shelves, easily arranged or removed to preference. Standing upon a continuous plinth foot, with a quality panelled rear.
