Description
This is an antique Canterbury stand. An English, rosewood three sectioned magazine or newspaper rack, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
Striking craftsmanship, ideal for the living room or conservatory. Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select stocks show fine grain interest and deep russet hues. Graced with a quality wax polish finish throughout.
Ornate carved upper with lyre shaped motif to the centre. Rolled handles to each end uniting the sections with turned baluster rails. Useful drawer to base adds further storage, dressed with a circular pull. Raised upon squat, baluster legs and riding smoothly upon brass castors to each corner.
