This is an antique cleric's swing-out case. A Chinese, hardwood travelling box, dating to the late 19th Century period, circa 1890. Charmingly provincial box, presented in original time-worn condition that displays a desirable aged patina throughout. Hardwood stocks present medium caramel hues. Brass strapping to the corners — some minor loss. Carved field panels adorn the case front with traditional Dogs of Fo. Lid opens aiding access to a pair of swing out compartments.
