This is an antique country house parlour game case. An English, oak organiser box, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Fascinating proportion to this pleasingly crafted case that displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select oak stocks with thick timber presents fine grain interest. An abundance of medullary rays dance amongst rich caramel hues.
Brass recessed handle to lid, with shield shape backplate. Opens to reveal an emerald green, baize lined interior. Six divisions to the interior, with a lidded compartment to the left. Unusual sliding clasps neatly set within nacelles to the fascia.
