This is an antique decorative afternoon tea tray. An English, mahogany and boxwood serving platter, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
Delightful tray for serving guests with Regency period elegance, displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout. Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues. Centrepiece boxwood scallop shell motif set within an oval medallion. Distinctive wavy edge to tray, dressed with rolled brass carry handles to either end.
Finished with a fascinating dappled leather protective pad to the base.
