This is an antique decorative fireside store. A Belgian, brass log or coal bin, dating to the late 19th Century period, circa 1880.
Generously sized fireside storage with a striking visual appearance that displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order. Quality brass presents bright golden tones throughout. Suitable for all fuel types, including logs, coal and kindling.
Profusely detailed to all surfaces with exceptional relief decor. Lid adorned with mask figure and scrolled leaf patterns. Stained pine frame presents clean, caramel hues to the interior. Maker's name to the lid for A. Arens, a Belgian metalworker.
Front fascia presents a cellist and two singers performing upon a garden terrace. Fine detail with clouds and trees to the background adding depth. The scene after David Teniers (1610-1690) a Flemish baroque artist. Dressed with a pair of handles for ease of carriage.
