Description
The watch has an English stem-winding movement, probably by one of the Coventry makers, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 53mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside all three covers for Chester 1904 with a mark for the Coventry watch case maker Isaac Jabez Theo Newsome.
The front of the case has blue enamel filled Roman numerals around a central lens and the back has the original owner’s initials. The case is in good condition.
The winding crown pushes in and the front cover opened with your thumbnail.
Inside, there is a glass lens which is in lovely condition.
The dial is in good condition, just a faint hairline on the chapter ring between 12 and 1. Original pin-set gold hands and blued steel chronograph hand. The chrono hand is operated by way of the sliding button on the side of the case. When the chronograph feature is switched off, the watch movement also stops ticking… this was how it was originally designed.
The chronograph comes in a new presentation box.
