This is an antique fireside fuel basket. An Indian, copper and bronze handled daal pot, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Appealingly original pan, ideal for fireside storage that displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order. Distinctive naive hatched pattern accentuates the copper body. Warm amber hues emanate from the tapered form, with a lightly polished finish. Stout bronze handle articulates within looped hinges sprouting from wide, shaped brackets.
