Description
Antique or possibly vintage French oak wood wall mirror, made in the 1920s probably, though could be a little later. Highly carved decorations, not plaster but directly cut into the wood, featuring shells, rose flowers and acanthus leaves etc, in the Louis XV style, much used in France since they lopped off the King's head (Regrettes? Pas nous..). It's all covered in a gilt like paint which is either a deliberate, darker bronze gold, or it's faded with age. Either way it's attractively worn and looks regal yet not as gaudy as the shiny trump tower ones.
Sorry about the courier charge: I won't post this; too risky

condition
condition
Condition is pretty good: there's a few chips to the frame (see pics) and there's no back board, though the glass is still properly held in, with only the slightest movement (usual). There's a wire for hanging though it's always wise to replace these (we'll get round to it..). Cosmetically it has plenty of scuffs and wear to it, as you might expect, and perhaps hope for, in a mirror this age; ditto the slight speckling to the mirror.
