Exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique George II English sterling silver sugar bowl; an addition to our diverse silver Georgian teaware collection. This exceptional antique George II sterling silver bowl has a plain circular shaped form, in a classis English form. The panelled surface of this fine antique silver sugar bowl is plain and embellished with the contemporary engraved initials 'Al'. The flared upper rim of the bowl is embellished with flat engraved foliate decoration; this is a classic style for the period. The sterling silver sugar bowl is supported by a circular collet style foot. The underside of this antique porringer retains the original silversmith's centre punch mark and scratch weight.
