Exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique George III Newcastle sterling silver mustard pot; an addition to our Georgian silver cruets / condiments collection. This exceptional antique George III sterling silver mustard pot has a plain oval form. The body of this large antique Georgian silver mustard pot is plain and unembellished, with an applied bead decorated border to the upper and lower rims. This fine mustard pot is fitted with a hallmarked domed hinged cover surmounted with a cast pierced decorated thumbpiece. The mustard pot is fitted with an impressive cast silver C shaped handle, with a plain pendant drop design to the upper portion. The mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner. This antique silver mustard pot is supplied with an associate sterling silver Old English bead pattern spoon, crafted by Solomon Hougham in 1799. This exceptional mustard pot, crafted by the renowned Newcastle silversmiths John Langlands I & John Robertson I, is a large example for its type. This large antique silver mustard pot is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
