condition
condition
These antique George III Matthew Boulton silver candlesticks are a superior gauge of silver and superior quality, as to be expected of this British provincial silversmith.
These candlesticks may appear perfectly vertical at certain angles, as often the case with candlesticks from this period, however they can be considered to be in exceptional condition.
The decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base and sleeve of each sconce are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these fine examples of antique Georgian silverware.
