Antique George V Sterling Silver Epergne / Centrepiece

Magnificent, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver epergne/centrepiece; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. This magnificent antique George V sterling silver centrepiece has a circular panelled form onto a swept panelled pedestal and plain circular base. The main central circular receiver is plain and unembellished, supported by a panelled waisted pedestal. This antique silver epergne/centrepiece is fitted with six sterling silver arms; the receivers to three terminals are circular and the others are octagonal. Each arm is embellished with impressive opposing scroll ornamentation in addition to a large spiralling terminal in junction with the central column. The main holder and each of the three circular receivers retain the original hallmarked circular panelled dishes; the central dish is larger than the supporting three. These antique dishes are encompassed with an impressive pierced decorated border accented with scrolling leaf and lobed designs, all below a plain applied paralleling moulded border to the rim. Each of the three panelled receivers accommodates a plain octagonal panelled tapering flute, ornamented with identical pierced decoration to that of the dishes. The flutes are further ornamented with drop style finials.
