Antique Karabagh Long Rug 2.97m x 1.17m

A fabulous antique Karabagh rug, handwoven in the southern Caucasus mountains of modern day Azerbaijan circa 1900. The design features an offset medallion on an open red field and terracotta border. Lovely secondary colours including a beautiful green in the outer border. Note the way the weaver didn’t repeat the corner spandrels at the top of the rug. Size: 2.97m x 1.17m (9ft 9in x 3ft 10in) This rug has light, age related wear. Very small repair to main field, professionally done and barely noticeable (see photos).
