This is an antique morning room chair. An English, rosewood and embroidered silk cotton side seat, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835.
Exquisite upholstery over a beautifully crafted frame that displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues. Traditionally stuffed drop-in seat at a comfortable height of 38.5cm (15.25'').
Striking crest rail with a plume of feathers form issuing broad scrolled mounts. Distinctive trapezoid carved ears host excellent turned finials. Padded dome topped back rest framed with a pair of superb barley twist supports
Lower rail unites the frame with a repeat of the scrolled motif.
