This is an antique octagonal table. English, mahogany and marble occasional or centre table in Gothic taste, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.
Fascinating octagonal form, with appealing Gothic overtones that displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues. Superb white marble plinth with a cool, tactile finish.
Deep apron hosts turned pendant finials to each side. Stout, twist gadrooned support column with bulb and petal detail. Standing upon a quartet of distinctive scrolled feet.
