Antique Oriental Lacquered Drop Leaf Table with Dragon Decoration

A beautiful Oriental drop leaf table dating to the late 19th century. Made of mahogany the table is ideal for occasional use and can be folded down when not in use. The table is rectangular when the leaves are folded down, becoming oval shaped when the legs are drawn open. The table has a black lacquered finish which gives it a dramatic rather gothic appearance. The top is profusely decorated with Oriental style carvings of lotus flowers, chrysanthemums etc and a dragon to the centre. Condition This piece is generally in solid structural condition, having been sympathetically restored in our workshop. There are various minor cosmetic marks of age and use including some scratches and small areas of wear to the table top. Measurements height-73.5cms width-42cms when closed (the widest points), 35cms for the table top width, 104cms when open depth-77cms The measurements are taken at the widest points.
