Description
This is an attractive antique whatnot stand which dates to the Victorian era.
Made of rosewood, rosewood veneers and mixed woods it is a useful piece which could be used as a bookstand or perhaps for display purposes in a bathroom, perfect for guest towels etc.
It is an elegant and timeless antique piece which has a lot of character.
The whatnot is fitted with three wooden tiers set over a single wide drawer. Each tier has decorative scalloped edging surrounded by barley twist supports and the top of the stand is finished with acorn shaped finials. The drawer has small turned wooden knobs and the stand is set on brass castors.
The wood has a polished finish which has a nicely aged patina.
Condition
The stand is generally in good structural condition with various small cosmetic marks of age and use. There are a couple of small areas of repaired veneer and some veneer has lifted slightly.
It has an elegantly aged look and is generally in good condition for its age.
