This is an ornate antique school bell. A Continental, brass wall mounted chime, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. Endearingly fascinating bell with superb detail throughout displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order. Warm golden hues accentuate the brass mount and bell. Broad dome bell set gracefully upon a pierced fretwork arm. The 14cm diameter bell strikingly adorned with relief cast cherub figures. Spurred off from the hinge, the pull handle activates the striker. Serpentine shaped backplate replete with cherub mask relief. Pleasingly strident tone to the bell ideal for raising attention.
