An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George III Newcastle sterling silver quart tankard made by John Langlands I & John Robertson I; an addition to our Georgian silver tankard collection.
This exceptional antique Georgian sterling silver quart* tankard has a plain tapering cylindrical form onto a spreading circular foot.
The body of this antique silver tankard is plain and encircled with a plain applied girdle, in addition to bands of tooled decoration.
This Georgian tankard retains the original hallmarked domed hinged cover with an impressive cast scrolling thumbpiece.
The hinge is decorated with pendant drop style ornamentation to the upper portion of the handle.
This antique sterling silver tankard is fitted with a hallmarked S scroll handle ornamented with an impressive heart shaped decorated terminal.
The underside of the tankard is embellished with the engraved initials 'Ia' and the engraved inscription 'M. Cust'.
This exceptional example of Georgian silverware, crafted by the renowned and collectable Newcastle silversmiths John Langlands I & John Robertson I, is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.
