Description
Here we have a beautiful Victorian solid silver fruit knife from the mid 1800s. It would be ideal for slicing apples or other fruit.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present for a birthday or wedding anniversary.
It was made by James Fenton and it was Hallmarked in Sheffield in 1861.
The fruit knife has a Sterling Silver blade and a beautifully smooth Mother of Pearl handle featuring an etched flower design. The blade folds neatly back into the handle.
The Silver is shiny with a few tarnish spots in places. There’s a couple of kinks to the blade which can be seen in the photos. The Mother of Pearl is in good condition showing all the lovely shades of colour that only shell has.
It’s a smaller fruit knife, measuring 9.4cm when fully open (3 3/4 inches). The blade length is 3.8cm (1 1/2 inches).
