Exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver bread/fruit dish; an addition to our dining silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver dish has an oval shaped form.
The lower portion of the body is embellished with fluted decoration, surmounted with a band of pierced floral motif decoration.
The decoration to the pierced band incorporates two cartouches; one bears the full hallmarks and the other remains vacant.
The rim of this antique silver serving dish is ornamented with an applied reed decorated border.
This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with two cast and applied handles, each fashioned in the form of lion's masks grasping a hallmarked drop-ring handle.
The well of this fine example of antique silverware is plain and unembellished.
This dish is the largest and finest of its type you could hope to acquire; by virtue of its size, this versatile dish could be used could be used for a multitude of functions, including a bread dish and fruit dish.
