Description
This is a beautiful Antique Solid Silver Fruit Knife from the late 1800s. It’s a fantastic collector’s item and would be great to use for slicing up pieces of fruit such as apples or pears.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present.
It’s a larger folding fruit knife with a Sterling Silver blade. It has a beautiful Mother of Pearl handle with very pretty ornate detailing and a blank oval cartouche on one side. The blade folds as a pen knife would do although the blade protrudes from the handle.
It was made by James Deakin & Sons and it was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1899. The maker’s mark and hallmarks are on one side of the blade.
Size
It’s a larger size knife measuring 13.1 in length when fully open (5 1/8 inches). When closed it measures 7.8cm (just over 3 inches).
