Art Deco Copper Planished Lidded Box

We have for sale a rather lovely Art Deco copper lidded box dating to around 1920. This very simple but striking copper lidded box dates from the period when the Arts and Crafts movement met the "le style moderne" (Art Deco movement). The box is of a simple planished oblong shape raised on a planished oblong base with two good hinges and a squared but un-planished knob to the lid. The overall visual effect is very attractive. The box is unmarked but dates to somewhere around 1920 when Art Deco styles were adopted by Arts and Crafts metalworkers. The box is 2.5 inches (5.4cm) high, 7 inches (17.8cm) long, 3.75 inches (9.5cm) deep and is in an very good antique condition. The box would serve as an excellent candle box.
