Description
On offer is this 1920s powder compact measuring 8 cm in diameter. This compact is made of celluloid, plain black on the base and with a lustre finish on the sides of the lid which imitates mother of pearl. The inset hinged lid has wonderful etched design featuring a lady gazing into a hand held mirror.
The compact has firm hinge and secure catch (rather tight) and opens to reveal a framed mirror under the lid. The mirror has age darkening but retains a reasonable reflection. The powder well in the base has a removeable celluloid sifter.
