Description
This is an Arts and Crafts enamel plaque in a pewter frame. Made to be hung on a wall or just placed on a shelf. Any enamel plaques in the arts and crafts era are pretty rare and were a costly process to manufacture which also included a high degree of skill by the craftsperson.
This may well be a more commercial example and I would suggest Liberty & Co at present.
Liberty,s retailed small boxes in pewter with enamel plaque lids and these were often decorated by Charles Fleetwood Varley.
Obviously the Guilds produced many decorative items in enamel too including Jewellery.
Suggested maker / retailer Liberty & Co.
