Description
This is a stunning tray that was made by the renowned Mary Reid Henderson. She was one of the Glasgow Girls who studied at the Glasgow School of Art Between 1901 and 1908. She was a painter, illuminator, metalworker, enameller and etcher.
Her work is highly sought after by all followers of the Arts & Crafts movement, and does not come to the market often.
This tray is all hand crafted white metal - it may originally have been silver plated. It is exquisitely decorated with a traditional Celtic motif around the inner edge, with a central motif surround the letter A in gothic script. It has Mary’s’ signature mark on the inner edge of the tray.
