Biedermeier Semainier Chest of Seven Drawers

This is a handsome large antique chest of drawers which dates to the Biedermeier period, an elegant piece which will make a statement in any room. This tall 'semainier' chest of seven drawers is a quality piece which is in superb condition for its age. Made of mahogany, with attractive book matched flame mahogany veneers, the chest will provide a good amount of storage in any home. The chest is fairly tall but has the benefit of splitting into three sections, making it easy to transport and position in any room. The front is fitted with seven lockable oak lined drawers which are finished with brass escutcheons. The drawers run well and the interiors are in clean condition. The chest is set on decorative scrolled feet and the wood has a French polished finish which has a nice sheen.
