Black and Wood Bow Front Chest of Drawers

This is an attractive antique chest of drawers which dates to the late Victorian era. Made of mahogany and veneers it is a useful piece which is has an elegant look which will fit most interior styles. The chest is fairly low and has a bow front. The front is fitted with four spacious drawers which are finished with decorative metal drop handles set on round backplates. The drawers run well and the interiors are in clean condition. The chest is raised on bracket feet. I have hand painted the main body of the chest in my own mix of water based black paint before very lightly distressing the finish. The paintwork is solid colour and has been waxed for protection, the finish is smooth and fairly matt. The drawer fronts have been left in their original mahogany finish, creating a pleasing contrast to the darkness of the paintwork. Condition The chest is generally in solid structural condition with small cosmetic marks of age and use. The drawers run fairly well for their age and the interiors are in clean condition. The top of the chest has some small dents and pit marks below the painted finish. Measurements height- 80cms width- 114cm depth- 51.5cms The measurements are taken at the widest points.
