Description
High-quality vintage English bracket timepiece by maker F.W. Elliott of Croydon, this is one of their “2883” models.
• Walnut case, has a fixed glazed front mounted in brass frame and 2 x decorative three-quarter brass side columns and brass bun feet.
• Domed Pagoda and shaped brass carrying handle.
• Elliott named chrome chapter ring dial, (signed "Garrard & Co Ltd. 112 Regent Street, London" - prestigious Jewellers to the British royal family), surrounded by four brass maiden head span-drels.
• Smooth silvered centre and original black Louis XV style hands with threaded collet.
• High-quality Elliott signed rear winding 8-day movement, (introduced by Elliott's in the late 1950's).
• French, 'l'Epée' manufactured, 7-jewelled platform escapement mechanism, fixed between the clocks two grained and unpolished rectangular brass plates.
There is also a brass presentation plaque to the rear of the clock, from Rolls-Royce, Bristol.
