Burmese Temple Carving, Polychrome Monkey & Elephant
This very ancient carving is part of a larger piece, the paint has a dusty slightly chalky finish with bright colours. The carving shows 2 figures, a Monkey sitting on an Elephant, it is set on square post and can be free standing. There are deep shrinkage cracks but it is all very sound. The statue comes from Burma.
It is 37” tall and the base is 13” in diameter
