Description
Here we have a very rare 18th Century (c.1790) George III antique oak and elm reclining armchair. As you can see the chair has great colour and patina. There is a strong ladder back with thick timbers. The back is hinged at the base. There are well shaped arms which have blacksmith hand forged brackets following the shape of the arm. The brackets have a series of holes and a forged lever to support the back when reclined. All the metalwork is original. The base has a planked curved seat and squared and tapered legs joined by an H stretcher. A possibly unique chair in fantastic retail condition ready for your home.
