This lovely pair of all original brass beds are incredibly charming with an interesting low end. The iron crossbars have been cleaned and re-painted and waxed to match their original finish and blend nicely with the bed. Naturally aged brass has been sympathetically cleaned to preserve the lovely patina. James (or Jas) Shoolbred was a prominent British furniture manufacturer and retailer known for its exquisite craftsmanship and high-quality furnishings. Founded in the mid-19th century, the company quickly gained recognition for its exceptional designs and attention to detail. Although the original Jas Shoolbred company ceased operations in the mid-20th century, their name and designs continue to be revered by collectors and enthusiasts of antique and vintage furniture. Jas Shoolbred pieces are sought after for their timeless beauty, superior craftsmanship, and historical significance, making them highly coveted additions to any discerning collector's home. The pair has been checked to ensure solid construction and good assembly. Side rails have been adapted to support wood slats and modern length single mattress 3’ x 6’3” / 90cm x 190cm. Price includes wood slats (sorry not mattress) As an alternative to the wood slats we can supply mini box bases for superior mattress support and to raise the get into bed height. We have our own workshops located along side our showroom in a beautiful medieval barn seven miles south of Bristol.
