China Tea Set: Idyllic China Tea Set by Paragon, From Their Wonderful Enchantment Pattern

An idyllic bone China tea set by the ‘Paragon China Company’ of Longton, Stoke, from their wonderful and successful “Enchantment” pattern. This lovely royal design shaped set, (with scalloped edges), includes: Teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl, 6 x tea cups and saucers, and a large cake plate. Founded in 1903, and renowned for its fabulous fine bone China wares, the company was initially known as the ‘Star China Company’, but officially changed its name to the ‘Paragon China Company’ in 1919, when one of the original founders and partners retired. Such was the company’s reputation for high-quality tableware, it was chosen for export to many counties within the British Commonwealth, including, Canada, India, Australia and New Zealand. Indeed, in 1938, such was the company’s standing in the sector of bone China tableware manufacture, that by the end of the 1930s they were also exporting to the Americas, and had been awarded a Royal Warrant by Queen Mary! By the end of the 1950s, the firm had also been awarded Royal Warrants by both the late (Queen Elizabeth) the Queen Mother, and Queen Elizabeth II, before the firm was acquired by Royal Albert in 1964. However, under the famous Paragon name their tableware's continued to grace homes around the world. The exquisite Enchantment pattern offers delicate blue flower petals with purple and grey autumn leaves (and glints of other colouration), finished with a classic gold trim and set against a pure white China background.
