Chinese Art Deco Carved Cream Carpet c.1930

Chinese handwoven, carved carpet, in the Chinese Art Deco style, approximately 11"7' x 8"6', Circa 1930. This rug has sparsely decorated cream coloured field with flowering boughs, enclosed by meandering vine borders. A hand woven carpet with deep, soft, silky pile, finished with selvage ends and fringes. Wool pile and cotton foundations. The soft pile is particularly silky, meaning the nap significantly changes the darkness of the colour depending on the direction of the light. The original colour appears slightly have had a slight gold hue. Now the carpet appears to have silver tones. A high quality, handmade old carpet. Some flaws and blemishes, but the carpet overall presents very well. Ready to use.
