A very good Edwardian period mahogany bookcase in the style of Thomas Chippendale. Well constructed in solid mahogany with attractive flame mahogany veneers. It is of compact proportions and with many design features redolent of the great cabinet makers commissions. The top section with a pair of glazed doors (lockable , key supplied) which open to access an interior with adjustable shelving. Flanked by canted corners inset with blind fret-work carving. All surmounted by a broken-arch open fret-work swan-neck pediment. The base section is of serpentine form. With an arrangement of 4 long drawers (lockable, key supplied) all fitted with their original solid brass handles. Flanked by canted corners, again decorated with blind fret-work carving. All standing on bold, carved ogee bracket feet.
Cleaned and waxed in our workshops and now offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home or office.
It spits into two sections for ease of installation.
