Coalport Dessert Plate c.1840

This is a bone china dessert plate produced at the Coalport factory around 1840. The rim is decorated with a finely gilded, complex design of scrolls, stems and leaves framing, in the centre, a good quality, hand-painted view of a small stone bridge crossing a narrow river. The base bear the hand-written, fractional pattern number, 4 / 832, in gold.
