Description
A two door handmade Cotswold School cabinet in walnut.
With inlaid stringing and added beads to the doors as part of the overall decoration.
Exposed dovetails on all corners.
The central vertical frame is visible as a though tenon with two split wedges to hold in place.
The base is held onto the body using expansion pieces as can be seen underneath in the photo.
This is almost on a par with Peter Waals although no firm attribution can be made.
Manner or; or even school/worshop/follower of Peter Waals.
The cupboard/cabinet has had a life.
This may have been an apprentice piece; although the workmanship and attention to detail would suggest otherwise.

condition
condition
Old repair to back bracket foot as two photos show.
Also the left door does not sit perfect and may need straightening as it does appear to be out of plumb.
The rest of the usage is mainly cosmetic and commensurate with the age of the cupboard.
