Country Oak Alms Box 1660

A rare Alms box This would have been in a church Made out of country oak This is so heavy I think this could be bog oak Dates 1630-1660 This alms box has faint paint work on it One side depicting a scull and cross bones The other side anvils Colour med oak Original hinges One metal ring on side where it would have been chained to the church wall Rose head nails Forged nails Pegged Handmade locks keys escutcheons All hand beaten and forged 2 keys one key is missing A rare chance to acquire a wonderful piece of English history
