Dairy Balance Scales by Parnall of Bristol
Superb large brass and iron dairy balance scales by Parnall of Bristol. This very large and attractive beam balance scale is set on a cast Iron base the central upright column is in brass and it is topped with a very decorative wrought iron finial. The beam balance and fittings are in brass, with a copper covered lead pan on one side and a white china platter in the other, this has the name John A Gilbert & Co and is most likely the shop which it was made for and it weighs up to 14lb.
The scale is 49” high and 33” wide, the ceramic plate is 13” in diameter.
