Description
These types of trunk are not rare, but difficult to find in such good condition, with a camphor wood box covered with a dark green leather and brass protective corners and edges, two brass carrying handles and studded decoration throughout. Camphor wood has always been used to deter moths whilst the leather surface has a weatherproof finish. This particular box has a name plate reading E.Lancaster and a very rare feature of original red sealing wax, obviously attempting to deter intrusions. The remaining wax is either side of the working lock (two keys). They make great storage/coffee tables. All cleaned and wax polished ready to go.
