This is a fine quality antique mahogany roll top desk most likely made by Holland & Son or Maples. The satinwood veneered interior has many pigeon holes, and drawers plus two pen slides and two unusual finger pulls. The lock has been serviced and comes with an extra key. As with most quality roll tops the side drawers automatically lock when the tambour is closed. Solid mahogany throughout with solid oak lined drawers to the base. All the exterior panels are fielded (bevelled), whilst the drawers have a concave shaped edging and still retain their original nickel plated brass handles which are cupped into the mahogany fronts, yet another unusual touch of quality. Polished all round, so as easy to use off the wall and the overall condition is very good.
