This fabulous bed is brimming with detail, do see all the pictures, the flame mahogany wood has a beautiful patina and there is attractive ormolu detail across the whole bed, the head end features a roll top and lit bateau style curve an attractive central detail, with the sides being flanked by beautiful ormolu figures, florals, shells and faces. The foot end also has a roll top and showcases a spectacular display of ormolu inspired by Greco-Roman mythology which is fascinating in and of itself! Featuring the caduceus, symbolising commerce, negotiation, communication and eloquence, traditionally held by Hermes and Mercury. The foot end also features a chariot scene and putto/cherubs which represent love, mirth and peace. There are yet more delightful ormolu details on the side rails, a cornucopia symbolising abundance, wealth and prosperity, and again more floral and decorative ormolu details. Whole bed has been checked and sympathetically restored to ensure solid construction and good assembly Price includes 4” Bed Base (sorry not mattress).
