Extremely Rare Gundorph Albertus (Georg Jensen) Silver Brooch
Gundorph Albertus was a Danish silversmith (born 1887) working for George Jensen in the early 20th Century and becoming head of production following Jensen's death in 1935. Probably his greatest achievement was designing the iconic 'Cactus' pattern for the company's flatware range.
This wonderful early example of his jewellery is in the style of a 'Bunad' brooch - traditional Norwegian wedding brooches often worn by men on the collar. It is set with red and yellow paste stones and has a pendant fall to the base, being fastened with a 'C' clasp.
A wonderful and rare piece from a sought after maker.
Marked 800 and maker's mark.
