Description
Stunning early 19th Century (c.1820) Regency period English bone china porcelain tea cup and saucer in the "empire" shape with raised looped handle with beaded inner terminal. The inside of the cup and saucer smothered in an intricate gilt "seaweed" pattern and the centres with a detailed starburst floral design. The outside of the cup has a striking pared down seaweed border with a loop detail just below the handle which is also unsurprisingly gilded as is the rim and foot. Unmarked but most likely Coalport.
measurements
The cup measures 9.3cm (3 10/16") across the rim and 5.1cm (2") high to the rim. The saucer is 14.6cm (5 3/4") wide.
