Description
This is a lovely striking mantel, desk, clock from the Napoleonic period. This is typical of the clocks that French officers would have carried with them on military campaigns. The rosewood case is beautifully polished with generous, quality inlay throughout. It has a glazed panel to the top with a gilt carrying handle. The white enamelled dial has black Roman numerals and lovely cut hands. It has a studded gilt bezel and bevelled glass.
The 8 day, (Marc of Paris) silk suspension, movement strikes the half-hour and the hours on a bell with a lovely mellow tone. It has just been fully overhauled by our BHI registered horologist and carries our usual 1mths full parts and labour guarantee.
A clock anyone would be proud to own.
