Description
This is a handsome Georgian silver soup ladle in the Old English Thread pattern, double struck so the pattern is repeated on the reverse. A family crest is engraved to the front of the handle of a rampant lion stood atop a turret and set below a coronet. A monogram is ornately engraved to the reverse. Hallmarked for London 1778, maker George Smith III.
