This is a good early 19th Century English Georgian antique blue & white transfer indented pottery dish printed in a medium blue palette with the "Alfred as a Minstrel" pattern from the British History series produced by Jones & Son of Hanley, Staffordshire, {c. 1826-1828}. The reverse with underglaze blue printed backstamp featuring Britannia and a young maiden, this enclosing the title, Alfred As A Minstrel below the series title, British History, and above the Maker's name, Jones & Son emblazoned on a shield.
