Description
Late 18th Century George III period, mahogany inlaid, bow front chest of drawers. This well proportioned chest of drawers, with bow front top with edge stringing. Bank of four full width drawers all graduated in height, with cock beaded edges, original oval plate brass handles, escutcheons, and locks. Moulded base edge and raised on original ogee bracket feet. Pine drawer linings. Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This chest of drawers is in an overall good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Some marks and blemishes in keeping with age and use. Original handles and escutcheons, two locks have been replaced. All drawers run well. No loose joints. There are a few historic old worm holes to the back and bottom pine dust board, which as a matter of precaution have been treated, and in no way affect the sturdiness of the piece, or are visible. Fully serviced. Wax polished, now ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
